Gabriel Herrero-Beaumont
Dr. Gabriel Herrero-Beaumont is Professor of Rheumatology at the Autónoma University of Madrid in the Department of Medicine and Director of Bone and Joint Research Laboratory at the Fundación Jiménez Díaz. He received his MD in experimental medicine from the University of Madrid in 1986.
He is past President of the Spanish Society for Rheumatology and was member of Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) Board of Directors (2002-2007).
Dr. Herrero-Beaumont serves on the editorial boards of several scientific journals and has published more than 120 original research articles. His research has focused on experimental animal models of acute and chronic joint diseases, lately osteoarthritis and osteoporosis as well as the mechanisms of action of different anti-rheumatic drugs. He has participated in several EULAR task forces for the development of the European guidelines for the management of knee, hip and hand osteoarthritis.
