Nele Caeyers
After writing a book on her experiences about living with Lupus, Nele Caeyers has become actively involved in national and international organisations for people with rheumatic conditions. As a representative for the Belgian people with rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders (RMD’s), she has contributed to several projects and activities to raise awareness for these conditions. She took part in several EULAR Task Forces and was involved in the development of EULAR Recommendations.
Nele follows European policy making in Brussels from a close angle and actively contributed to the Belgian Presidency Conference on Rheumatic Conditions in October 2010, when Belgium was chair of the EU. She has been involved and working with LUPUS EUROPE in the past.
Nele was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus at the age of 22.
